The site-specific installation Mother Song was specially made for the first floor exhibition space of Club Solo: a rhythmic spatial collage that includes abstract fragments from the photo archive of Gartz' mother and father, especially from the time Gartz' mother Thea was part of The Women's Peace Movement - Vrouwen voor Vrede. The group protested against nuclear weapons, and fought for peace and equality. Mother Song is a spiritual work about action, stillness and movement.
At Club Solo’s ground floor exhibition space, Gartz showed The Way Home II, a new version of the video installation she made for a former nuclear bunker (Safe, Dalfsen 2008), and which was being reactivated.
